Machine Translation

1. Ginger

Ginger is an application that can assist in the translation. We can install this application via a mobile device or computer.
With ginger we can find such mistakes be corrected quickly intervening with a good spelling and grammar checker. Spelling errors can be the caused by typos, phonetic mistakes, spelling mistakes severe, and Misused words.

Ginger also provides other applications to help the translation is ginger define. Ginger define is useful to define the English language dictionary, this dictionary give a full of definition, define the word we are looking for and help find synonyms are needed.

Additional applications available on ginger are synonyms. 

2. SDL

SDL can translate various kinds of documents directly such as doc, ppt, odt, pdf and txt.

SDL can translate words, paragraphs, and documents. We can easily access the application online. But the weakness of this sdl is to translate word for word, which is sometimes if translated word for word then the result is unnatural.

3. Sytrans

Applications Sytrans can we add into the web that we have such as a blog. With this application we can translate the document from the web without having to copy them beforehand,  just put the web address that we will translate, later sytrans will translate it.The disvantage of this aplication is sytrans can’t translate from Indonesian as the Source Language ( SL) and the Target Language (TL).

4. Trados

Trados can import a variety of file types to be translated, from a variety of office formats (Ms Word, OpenOffice, PDF), XML, HTML, PO, and so on. Trados can also save the dictionary terminology and glossary. So the terms are often in use will be easy, quick, and just pasted into the document that is being worked on.

5. Wordbee

Wordbee automates document and translation setups, improving the initial management phase. Wordbee helps you manage your internal and external suppliers, keep track of their specialty domains, and keep records about performance. The disadvantages for using this aplication are Wordbee (cloud based only, so one needs to use one’s browser) is very simple to learn, due to it being rudimentary and thus not having all the features of a local PC CAT tool. First the spell checker for QA turned out be buggy, not finding all errors and especiailly not finding accidentally entered ‘second letter’ caps.
Secondly, I could not upload my own TM and/or glossary to speed up my work. This is especially important with specialized translations where agencies are rarely able to provide an online TM or glossary that will be of help nor should they be expected to.
